Arcticlight Samoyeds is a boutique Samoyed kennel situated in the Wyong, Gosford area on the Central Coast; about one hour’s drive north of Sydney, New South Wales.

Previously known as Samaska Samoyeds, Arcticlight Samoyeds has been showing and breeding Samoyeds since 1988.

All about Jo

I’ve been around Samoyeds all my life. My parents bred and showed Samoyeds in and around Sydney during the 1960s. I watched and learned from them and I developed a lifelong love for this very special breed.  

Arcticlight kennels

My first bitch was Aust. Ch. Arcticlight Just Do It who I named Holly. At that time I operated under the kennel name of Samaska. With Holly’s help, I went on to breed Kyro, Elle, Maggie and many more beautiful pups from this outstanding bitch.

Over the years I have met many people who were either other breeders or who shared a common interest in Samoyeds. Treasured friendships have developed over many long hours discussing our dogs and I have been personally rewarded by their involvement in my life.

Betterment of the breed

As a breeder, professionalism has always been important to me, selecting for sound examples of the Samoyed standard; with good structure and movement as well as temperament suitability.  

As part of my commitment to my craft and to the Samoyed, my dogs are all hip-scored and x-rayed prior to breeding. When choosing the Dam and Sire, I look not only for physical soundness and temperament but for confidence and emotional gentility.

All my puppies are reared in a warm, family environment.  They receive very basic command  training which includes being paper house-trained. When the pups leave my kennel they have all been vaccinated, vet checked and micro-chipped. I also offer ongoing support to the new family or kennel.
